Who is GLOVES for?

  • Female boxing instructor teaching young male student proper punching technique with red and blue boxing gloves

    All ages

We welcome participants aged 16+, usually in mixed-age sessions. Please feel free to contact our team to discuss age-specific cohorts, including youth programs.

  • Woman in boxing gloves high-fives an instructor while smiling during a group fitness class with participants watching

    All genders

Our sessions are typically mixed gender, but this can be adapted to exclusively male or female participants.

  • Woman smiling while wearing red boxing gloves in a boxing stance against a green and yellow background

    Multilingual learners

Our sessions are designed to be accessible through plain English (and visual) materials, practical exercise demonstrations and translation support when required.

Our approach

  • Two smiling professionals posed against a green and yellow gradient background

    Friendly facilitators

We have 2 on our team for the session and they will be there to greet participants and ensure everyone feels comfortable before we begin.

  • Smiling man in blue shirt wearing red boxing gloves against green and yellow gradient background

    1st hour - Light box-fit

Our instructor starts with basic box-fit, covering footwork and punch combinations – suitable for all levels of experience.

  • Two people in conversation with educational posters on wall showing brain tricks, honesty, family values, and healthy coping strategies

    Followed by mental health

Our mental health practitioner then leads the next stage, using interactive resources to explore practical, evidence-based strategies.

  • Spacious fitness studio with wooden flooring, wall-mounted mirrors, exercise equipment including stationary bike, colorful stability balls, resistance bands, and training props organized along the walls

    Privacy

Sessions take place in a secure, private area. No one needs to feel self-conscious.

  • Team of 9 people holding DISC profile cards, standing under a large gold ampersand symbol against green and yellow background

    Small groups

We try and keep groups focussed, with 8 participants in a given session.

  • Split image showing ankle pain from athletic injury on left and spinal pain illustrated on right, representing physical health concerns addressed through workplace wellness programs

    Support

Our fitness instructors can adjust sessions to support most prior injuries.

How can participants prepare?

  • Golden yellow t-shirt displayed above brown lace-up hiking boots on a gradient green-to-yellow background

    Closed shoes

Participants should wear clothes that are comfortable for light exercise — closed shoes must be worn to protect feet.

  • Morgan brand boxing gloves and mitts in red, black and white

    Equipment

Populi provides brand new boxing pads and gloves for safe participation and to take home as a gift upon graduating!

  • Blue towels and water bottle for workout recovery and hydration

    Towel & water

Refreshments will be provided, but participants may wish to bring their own bottle of water and towel for their comfort during the session.
