Exploring personality through trauma-informed counselling

Our approach

    Friendly facilitator

Our sessions are typically run by one of our team of experienced, qualified practitioners.

  • DISC personality assessment tool showing diverse team members in workplace discussion with labels for Distracted and Creative traits

    2 x 2-hour sessions

The session is typically run over a day, 10:00-12:00, a light lunch, then 12:30-14:30.

  • Personality Matters program workbook cover featuring a woman holding a tablet

    Takeaway coursebooks

All participants receive a course book packed with evidence-informed strategies.

  • Collection of pens, notepads, Blu Tack adhesive, and sticky notes arranged on blue and white background

    All resources provided

Populi will provide all of the pens, paper, and session materials required.

  • Group of diverse employees in team discussion during workplace wellbeing program activity

    Small groups

We cap our referrals at 16 and aim to have between 8-12 participants in a given session.

  • DISC careers portal displayed on laptop surrounded by recruitment brochures for Traffic Control and New Locations positions

    DISC personality discovery

During lunch participants complete a DISC survey and receive a personalised report.

Some of the areas we will explore

  • Iceberg partially submerged in ocean water, showing visible tip above surface and large underwater mass below

    The whole person concept

DISC is founded on the iceberg, whole person, concept — the iceberg used as a metaphor for how little we know of other people by judging them by what we see ‘on the surface’.

  • Man with dark curly hair and beard smiling, wearing gray shirt, with colorful red, blue, yellow, and green background blocks

    Individual triggers

We will explore what might trigger an individual based on their DISC personality style and how they might be able to anticipate those triggers in the future for themselves.

  • Woman with head in hands looking downward against colorful background, representing stress or mental health concerns

    Cognitive distortions

…or ‘Brain Tricks’ as we like to call them; where our mind plays into our negativity bias and tries to be helpful through unhelpful, at times limiting and dangerous, thoughts.
